Free Welwyn Hatfield Sports Clubs Events Publicity As you know 2018 is the Hertfordshire Year of Physical Activity. As part of this we are compiling a calendar of events throughout the year to inform people about what’s happening throughout the borough. We are, therefore, asking club leaders to let us know about any events that you may be planning which are open to the general public. We will then promote these events through the WHSPAA and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council website and social media.
7 Primary Schools Enjoyed Badminton Tournaments Managed by Stanborough schoolOn 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 10th November primary schools in Stanborough School cluster enjoyed badminton fun tournaments. Each tournament session involved approximately 60children from each school being helped by leaders and coaches with 10 different badminton-related skills and then seeing how many times they could repeat the skill in a given time.
The Best Yet Hatfield Healthfest - 23 SeptemberThe crowds came and enjoyed the 27 stalls and 9 demonstrations at this year's Hatfield Healthfest.

Sport Inspired Day for Five Hatfield Primary Schools at Herts Sports Village Two hundred and sixteen year four pupils from five Hatfield primary schools had a fun tournament at Hertfordshire Sports Village on Tuesday 13th June. The schools taking part were: Birchwood Avenue, Green Lanes, Howe Dell, Oak View, and St Mary’s Welham Green.
WHSPAA at WG Fire Station Open Day Promotes 'This Girl Can'The Fire Station hosted record crowds at their sunny Open Day, Saturday 10th June. There were many activities for all ages. WHSPAA with partners Child UK and WG Community Badminton Network (WHCBN) provided table tennis, ball-bounce and badminton. WHSPAA and WHCBN promoted sport for women and girls in the 'This Girl Can' programme with a hitting challenge with prizes.

Hatfield Health Fest Brought in the CrowdsThis sunny Saturday event in White Lion Square had 27 stalls and lots of activities provided in a relaxed environment where the public could speak with local specialists and have a go at the ever changing activities.

Road to Rio for WH Primary schoolsA simply massive event for 420 WH Year 5 primary school children from 14 schools took place at Gosling Sports Park on Friday 15th July. Some 20 different sports both inside and outside the stadium were tried with the help of school leaders and club volunteers coachs.
The place was truly buzzing at Peartree Fun DayThe place WAS TRULY buzzing!!!!!! People had so much to do, inside and outside. Facepainting, drumming, fencing, badminton, Irish Dancing, stalls promoting your organisations and services, martial art, family games, various activities for all.
Welwyn 2K and 10K were a great success for all agesThe sun shone and hundreds of participants decended on Singlers Marsh on Sunday 26th June for either the 10k Run or 2k Fun Run.

Badminton in the village Hall All ages enjoyed the badminton povided by local coaches and leaders from Welwyn Hatfield Community Badminton Network. Great Turn-out for AGM and This Girl Summit - Welcome the new WHSPAA ChairmanOver 30 people attended and thanked Dave Bartlett, Chairman of WHSPAA as he stood down after 10 years, and welcomed new chairman Rhian Hollyer. Rhian, who has lived in the area for many years is a member of Welwyn Hatfield Netball and she works as a Project Officer at Herts Sports Partnership.
