Road to Rio for WH Primary schools

A simply massive event for 420 WH Year 5 primary school children from 14 schools took place at Gosling Sports Park on Friday 15th July.  Some 20 different sports both inside and outside the stadium were tried with the help of school leaders and club volunteers coachs.

BMX World Champion Mike Mullen, and Welwyn Hatfield mayor, Pat Mabbott, provided inspiring speeches and Matt Rayner announced the start of the games to 420 primary school children.

Outside track and field, and rugby, football, lacrosse and BMX.

Inside Taikwondo, Badminton, Boxing, table tennis and indoor athletics.

Thanks to WHBC for sponsorship and to principal organiser, Rhian Walsh, WH School  Sports Partnership teachers and leaders, Gosling Sports Park Management, and volunteer coaches from the many clubs involved the event was a great success.
